On the go...

We are home...but we are leaving again in the morning. We are taking a mini vacation to celebrate 5 years of marriage (tomorrow is our anniversary)...life is so fun!

I'll be back online in the new year.

Happy new year to all!

Merry Merry Xmas

This photo is from several years ago...but that does not matter...because I am sure that O will be wearing this same sweater for Xmas this year. This sweater was $5 well spent, thank you Ebay.

Update: I was right, huh? This post was written in advance, since we should have been in tahoe by the time it went up. But, as you saw in this post, the sweater was unpacked and put on here in Portland.

Making the Most of our PDXmas

We are still here in Portland. We are still trying to get on a flight to Tahoe. Hopefully that will happen tomorrow.

Although this was not the plan, we are having fun with it. We unpacked the boys' Xmas sweaters....and put them on.

WKFs sweater was made with love by Birdie's godmother...many years ago...

Pancake breakfast at the neighbors...

WKF was able to make his first snow angel...

I was able to dress WKF up like a handsome ski bunny...

The view from our bedroom...

The view of our pad from the street...

Skiing in the roads...

The horsey got his own tree...

Has it been 3 years...

...since we left Bean Town??

Yes, it has.

Below is a shot of O waiting for guests to arrive for our final house party in Boston. It was Xmas time and I believe the movers were coming the next day...

Speaking of the movers...here they are...they were twins. Aren't they cute? I loved them.

We could not have done the move without them...check out the moving of the couch...these guys were pros

Oh #232, we did love you!

Guns N' Roses Fan

Thank you Slash and Axl...your lovely holiday card arrived and WKF loved loved it!

ARCTIC BLAST fun with the neighbors!

While the babies are sleeping...the parents are out playing in the snow...

Silent Nights in Baltimore?

Birdie got WKF's Baltimore sweetheart a onsie to match his. Could this little rosebud be any more beautiful? Portland LOVES this child!

Have you ever seen...

...an "angel reindeer fairy"? There was one spotted in South Carolina today. Isn't she lovely? She looks kind of like my sweet niece Z$.

Tahoe Ho Ho

We will be having ourselves a very Tahoe Christmas. We take off today.

But don't worry, I have scheduled several posts for you to enjoy while I am offline. So, be sure to come back over the holidays for a dose of Portland Sunshine.

Merry Christmas to all!

Update: Flight cancelled due to A.B.. Hopefully we can head out tomorrow!

Bienvenue!

Our next trip to France will be even sweeter! WKF has a new cousin a Grenoble! Baby V was born a few weeks ago. Below he is pictured with WKF's older cousin (V's big bro) R.

How amazing are R's blue eyes?! How sweet is this new bebe?

ARCTIC BLAST CONTINUES!

PDX continues to face "ARCTIC" conditions. Check out the mail truck...with chains...on clean dry pavement...

And check out my FedEx delivery lady....wearing shorts....

To the Park City girls...the FedEx lady delivered a big box from you to WKF - it is under the tree! Thank you!

Look What I Missed

I posted a few days ago about how the ARCTIC BLAST caused me to miss the cookie swap.

Well, the swap went on without me.

Below is the cute as can be hostess and the guest of honor. Please note...this amazing hostess is recovering from major surgery (on her jaw) and cannot talk or eat solids (including cookies)...and yet she hosted this big todo because she is just that kind of gal...

VT, I think having Santa show up was a good call. These shots are so festive and adorable! It is hard to tell who had a better time...the ladies, or Mr. Claus.

Buche de Noel

One year, when we lived in Lux, my teacher sent us all home with a recipe for Buche de Noel. I remember trying to make it with my mom. From what I recall, ours tasted good, but looked nothing like a true Buche de Noel.

The Kitchn has a really cute, modern, Aspen-inspired one featured. I love it. This makes me want to try again...

Note: If I ever follow through on my plans to be a true Frenchie, I should really figure out how to do this.

Fa la la la Love It

I love me a Christmas tree with a theme. I also love when the tree and or theme reflect what someone is all about. On that note, here are some shots that my sister sent my way.
This tree belongs to her friends Mark and John. This particular theme wouldn't work in all homes, but it looks like it works great in theirs!
Thanks boys, for letting me post this. Thanks LL for sharing. Love it.

Loving these Posters

Thank you Apartment Therapy for introducing me these Ork posters and screen prints. You can buy yours here. They just introduced the Portland Poster, and according to their site they say they have more colors coming soon.
It is hard to tell from these pictures...but the posters show all of the neighborhoods of these great cities.

Below is a close up of the Portland Print....

ARCTIC BLAST!

Oregon is similar to Vermont in so many ways...until it snows....and then the 2 states could not be more different.

Over the past few days the temps in OR have been hovering *around* freezing and we have about a quarter of an inch of snow. Schools have been closed all week. Nobody is going to work. My doctor's appointment (at the hospital) was cancelled. Chains are required on tires....even though you can see the pavement. (Thank you sweetV for this photo!)

Our local NBC affiliate (channel 8) has cancelled regular programming ALL DAY(every day this week) to broadcast "Arctic Blast Special" coverage...this means that I do not get the Today Show in the morning...which is bugging me.

We have changed as well...it feels so so so cold to me (even though this is NOTHING compared to VT cold). I cancelled my cookie exchange plans last night (so sorry sweetV) because O warned me that the roads were awful...

Funny stuff...

Maybe tonight?

Birthday Parties

Align CenterOut in the blogosphere (and in my real life) there have been so many cute BDay parties for kiddos lately. (above is mwaz's little boy)

Below are some pix of some of my favorites....

Below - a birthday parade. Love this idea. I spied it here, on DesignMom.

Below, a cowboy theme. Hosted by the fabulous Stephmodo (who happens to be a friend of mine from highschool)

Below are shots from SC's bday bash across the street. ONE is FUN!

Does anyone (else) remember Trista and Ryan, from "Bachelor" fame?? Well below are pix from their little boy's Candyland themed bday party, which I spied here, on Hostess with the Mostess.

Ambrosia Girl threw quite a bash for her boys. Superhero theme. I love this idea. So cute!

Below are pix from the Tea Party in Cleveland. The B twins had a lovely bday celebration. AB, can't believe they are THREE!!!

Ambrosia Girl does it again! I LOVE the cupcake bar below. Make your own cupcake. Brilliant.

Speaking of cupcakes, this is pretty cute. I spied on this blog. The next shot is from the same party...I love the banners and other tree decor! Note, everything on this woman's blog is pretty great. While you are there, be sure to check out her home.!
