iPhone 4

Mine is ordered...and I probably sounded like this when I ordered it...

Warning: you WILL be offended by the language of this video, but you will thank me for a good laugh

Photos du Jour

A bunch of random shots that I just dumped off of my phone...

Hello Gorgeous View

As much as we loved their old house in Tacoma, it was only a temporary rental. The love birds just bought a new house. And...wow! I was so taken by the views that I didn't even snap a shot of the house.

From the back deck you see the sound:

From the front deck, Mt Rainer
Tacoma seems like such a cool place to live. Every time we visit, we are so impressed.

Sidenote: On one of our future visits, I just have to check out the glass museum.

Lunch Lady Land - hold the ranch

"Would you care for some curried chickpeas or chicken over couscous? How about a whole-breast chicken fillet or a serving of lasagna hand-assembled using locally made marinara sauce and fresh basil?"

"How about a big slice of Hermiston watermelon or a handful of ripe strawberries grown in Forest Grove? Or would you prefer a serving of roasted asparagus and a scoop of black bean and corn salad the lunch lady made fresh this morning, seasoning it with lime juice and fresh cilantro?"

Hooray for Portland Public Schools. Click here to read up on the school lunch revamp.

This part blew my mind: "The biggest single change: Ranch dressing, consumed by the gallon in most cafeterias last year, is gone. Serving real-meat chicken in place of chicken that was shredded, pressed and molded will cost an extra $60,000 -- roughly the same amount the district spent on all that ranch dressing last year. "

Jasper!

Yesterday was a special day. We got to meet, snuggle and stroll with the newest member of our PDX family.
Little J's mama and papa are doing great - total naturals, they are making it look easy to have a newborn.

Chai

This print is pretty great.
Thanks LL for sharing.

Crab Season

15 years ago...Jojo and I had just met and we were settling into our TINY shared room in Wills Hall at UVM. We have taken different paths since 1995, but we are still buddies.

Here she is with her baby girl O, who just turned 2. She looks exactly the same as she did 15 years ago.
Jojo lives on the edge of the Earth (Provenir, Chile)...she and her hubby work in a family seafood importing business. Their lifestyle is fascinating.

King crab season is in full swing and I thought these pix were pretty cool.

Funny Confession LXII

I am going to sleep so much better now that I finally found a great pair of jeggings. For my baby girl.

Jump Jump

Have I ever told you that I was a high jumper, long jumper and triple jumper in college? Well, I was...

And O has been known to leap as well.

I think WKF's almost ready to jump the flags...his hair certainly is long enough...

Home Girl

After seeing this post, I am thinking that more people should get married in their homes. So sweet and simple.

Swinger

This picture from the selby makes me want a swing in my living room.

Happy Anniversary Allie

This is a poor photo of a sweet, romantic, gesture. In sidewalk chalk on NW23rd, in big letters: "Allie, I LOVE YOU. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY"

Church Music and Dancing

Did anyone else catch these dance moves at church this weekend? Quality. This guy is a regular on the scene. We love his style.

Breadboard

I meant to post about this last month, when we returned from our road trip. Better late than never. If you are ever in Ashland, OR and you want a good breakfast stop, go to the Breadboard.

Bon Appetit

I heart Laurelhurst Market (as I have noted here and here). I guess I have good taste. Congrats to LM for making Bon Appetit's top 10 list for new restaurants.

Now I crave steak frites and/or a burger...

Photo is from the O.

Planning a Mama Comeback

I'm starting to get into a running groove again. I have my eye on a few races and I have never taken my eye off of the someday goal of qualifying for the Boston Marathon. If I am going to run races, I need to look good. Everyone knows that the cuter your outfit is on race day the faster you run. You may already know my thoughts on running skirts. But I think I need even more sparkle in my stride. What do you guys think of running in a dress? A few options below...

I'm leaning towards the slim black one. I think it says: "I'm all business, but I've also got some girly sass".
Please chime in with comments...and try to talk me out of it (good luck) if you think its too much.

Farmtastic Photos du Jour

Another thing to love about Portland? The farms on Sauvie Island.

House Love - Selby Contest

I could spend ALL DAY looking at entries for this contest. May the best house win!

Below are my 2 favorite entries.

This house is in Squaw and I'm pretty sure we know these people (confirming with O's sis). If we do know them, I'm totally mad at O's sis for not getting me an invite to hang there yet. Work on it Sam...I need a tour...

And this house is just my style. It was love at first sight for me. Its in Michigan.

I would totally live in Michigan if I could be in this house.
