Velontines Day

VDay is a weird holiday. I love when people coordinate creative celebrations that make it feel cool instead of lame. Holland nailed it a few years ago. 

And this year, PDX is nailing it with velotine's day...drop in to the community cycle center, tell them your message and valentine, they type it (on a typewriter) and deliver it by bike. ha. portland, be mine. 

And...funny confession....looking back through my blog archives...I remember how much the kids and I got into vday a few years ago....wow. 

Selfie Love

I adore Honestly WTF, esp when they have content as great as this. I only wish I'd seen I'd thought of it myself while I was living in the shadows of the Rijksmuseum.

Creepy Crocodile

What good is a mommy blog if you can't post videos of your kids doing TOTALLY AMAZING things...esp when it is you and only you that gets to define "TOTALLY AMAZING".

Carpe Diem! Big Picture Calendar

If you know me at all, you know I adore planning my entire year on one page. I have made my own such planner for years...I even remember doing it in high school...

It brings me so much joy to share that I will no longer be making my own.

Amsterdam Map

I am so proud of my friend JM, who is so talented and hard working (as I have mentioned)...I knew this map would be worth waiting for! I'm in love with it, cannot wait for mine to arrive so that I can frame and hang it!

Beycation

I'd use any excuse for a train ride to Seattle and some time with great girlfriends. Beyonce is a very solid one. As expected, Bey rocked our world. This sweet getaway was time and money well spent. 

He Remembers

It is rare that WKF communicates through art, but this piece tells me he remembers Amsterdam. So do I. 

School Art

I love a good piece of school art. W made some great sunflowers, even P was proud of his effort. 

PS - P rocks a helmet at school. Not because we ride our bike to school (I wish that was the reason), but because she rolls around the place in gold hightop heelys.

True story: this is my bottom desk drawer at work.

True detail: the lemon flavor chocolate was a purchase inspired by lemonade. The Bey Countdown is sooooooooooo on.

I wish I knew who to thank for making time to make that sign awesome. 

Plans

The plans for our new chalet are coming together really well. Architects are so spendy, we decided to let SweetP design it.  EB - call me if you have any questions...otherwise we'll hope you can have this done by Thanksgiving...cool?

Eddie!

I read a review here that stated: " Picture the protagonist of Napoleon Dynamite starring in Cool Runnings, opposed by the preppy villains of Hot Dog... The Movie—the TV edit, of course, this is a family film—and you’ll start to get the idea." 

And after reading that, I just knew I had to see this movie ASAP. So I grabbed my kids who are 6 and 7 (logically figuring that since 6+7=13 the PG13 rating was fine), and we hit the theatre.

We LOOOOOOOOVED it. 

I don't love how this story ends in real life...so I like to believe it is not over. Surely sweet Eddie deserves a cut of this film's revenue!

And THIS touch of holland made me cry (happy tears)...so so so good to see one of my ARBs in PDX! Seriously, so good. 

P Time

W had a playdate after school on friday...so P and I organized a quick date of our own before we picked him up. Cupcakes and the art museum. 

I had been dying to check out this exhibit...mostly because the wallpaper situation is so so so amazing. It is custom made, using photographs of fruit from hood river and echoing the 19th century, which is the era that art museums in the US were founded.
