Another Halloween Post

Uwajimaya

After driving by it about a zillion times, I finally stopped in...and wow. Browsing through the colorful aisles of Uwajimaya made me feel like I was overseas. So cool.

Check out the rice maker selection:

And check out these guys. I forget what they are called...but they are basically giant clams (as big as my arm), they sell them live. In fact, they sell lots of live seafood....

There were so many things in there that I have never seen before...I had a great sushi lunch and I am inspired to do some Asian influenced cooking.

Baby Loves Disco

I guess Baby Loves Disco is nothing new in Portland, and they also have it in 20 other cities...but it's new to me and I can't wait for WKF to be old enough to get his groove on.

How adorable is the Portland poster...you can buy it here.

News from Cortina

As I have previously posted we have good buds living in Italy this winter. Lucky for me she started a blog so that I can keep tabs on their adventures. Yesterday's post cracked me up. The photos say it all. Here they are.

Thanks for the demo M.

While we are blogging about my Italian friends - I must give a bday shout out to S. Happy 30th girl!!! We'll have some gelato this weekend to honor your big day! I really really wish we were there to celebrate with you.

Vianden

Today's Wall Street Journal had a lovely feature on Vianden. **

Growing up in Luxembourg, I have been to Vianden many times. In fact, I went so many times that I recall complaining to my parents that the castle was quite "boring"...
When we were in Lux last December, we did not make it to the Ardennes region, so we missed Vianden. I'll have to take O and W the next time.

Seeing this small town in the WSJ was quite a suprise and seeing the pix was so fun. Here they are for you to enjoy.

**I don't know if that link will work unless you subscribe to the online version of the WSJ.

Halloween = Election Season

How funny are these?

You can download the stencils here to make your own presidential pumpkins. Will someone on HammyT (uncle bobby?) please motivate to do this, I'd love to see it in person but I know I won't do it...

Dandelion Dreams II

I still think often of this bed from a previous post...and I think of how Bry needs it. Perhaps a more fiscally responsible investment for dandelion dreams would be this lovely pillow.

Funny Confession XX

There is a Bday coming up here in PDX, and I bought a great book at Anthro to give as a little gift. However, I was so excited about the book....I read it myself first. I still fully intend to give it as as gift.

Is that tacky? Yes, it probably is.

Well, the birthday girl reads my blog...so I just had to get this confession off of my chest. Post Bday I will let you all know what the book is, it is super cute and a fun read.

Are you the Bday girl? You know who you are....please forgive me...xo

Oui Oui

Once O and I have been married 5 years (coming up this December) I can apply for French citizenship. I intend to get my act together and do this, but it is a process and so it will require some serious motivation to see it through.

I saw this cake here, and I have a renewed motivation to follow through. Butofcourse I'd want un gateau like this one to celebrate my new nationality...

Hiking with Mimi

WKF is loving the fall and loving his mimi.

Photo du Jour

Practicing his sitting in his bumbo seat.

I love a fresh coat of paint

Have any other PDX-ers noticed the fresh coat of fun color on these town houses on NW Glisan, just behind St. Cupcake? I love love love them. Go check them out, and grab a cupcake while you are in the area....

O is very open minded when it comes to my color choices with the house, but I think that he'd draw the line if I proposed something like this for the exterior. The neighbors may also have an opinion. Oh well, I'll just admire these beauties each time I am downtown in NW PDX. They will be especially lovely on a gray day.

Matilda Jane

While in Bend, Mom and I saw 2 adorable little girls dressed up in amazing clothes from Matilda Jane. Their outfits were so unique and fun, we had to ask their mom where she got them. I have since looked online and fell further in love with Matilda Jane girls clothes. It is so good (for our budget) that I do not have a baby girl...

Before the rain comes....

We should all go buy one of these! How cute are they? I found them here but you can buy them here.

Party!

Cinnamon and Buddy are throwing a big ole' doggie party up in doggie heaven to welcome sweet Buckeye! Of course B&E are sad to see Buckeye go, but Cinnamon, Buddy, Chamois, Pretty Kitty, Tyrone and many other past pets are sooooooooooo excited to welcome him up above.

B&E, our hearts are with you! xoxoxo

Great Visit

Thanks for coming B&B. We are glad you made it home and we wish you didn't live so far away.

Photo du Jour

Not the best shot of my stud, but the point is that he is wearing his RedSox shirt...just hoping they can pull it off tonight. Not looking good...down 0-5, bottom of 7th....and down 1-3 in the series...c'mon boys, WKF is staying up to cheer for you....in his jersey....
UPDATE: WKF is helping the Sox, they are now all tied up (7-7), bottom of the 9th...c'mon boys, you can do it! Go sox!
UPDATE: Sox won! Yeah Boston! Love that dirty water....

Thanks MW

Mwaz gave me a very kind shout out on her blog. Thanks girl. Maybe I'll get my act together and enter the contest. It was fun and inspiring to look through the entries.

Words cannot express how much I love this entry. Chritine, are you out there? I want to be your friend!

Back Online

We were off line for a few days; road tripping with Birdie and BryGuy. We went to Bend, OR. We love Bend. Every time I go I remember that I love it! This was WKF's first trip to Bend, he loved it too.

Here is WKF with Birdie, we did a lot of walking.

There are so many fun things to do, and great shopping too. My favorite kids shop was Treefort - it was full of fun stuff - esp for baby girls! Their website is adorable, their real shop is even cuter.
My favorite shop pour moi was called Blue. Their myspace website situation isn't that great - but their actual store is great. Awesome prices and really fun stuff. The girl that worked there was so cute in the funkiest way- yellow/orange hair and all. Mom and I loved her.
