Run For The Arts

I adore when two things I love collide..sometimes it is random, but lately I have been making it happen.

With the help of the Public Art PDX app (which I have mentioned before), I have been planning runs that hit cool public art.  This morning I cranked out a few miles and saw 7 rad sculptures that I have probably run/driven by before but never appreciated.

Well good morning Portlandia. What a great way to start the day!

We played at CHAP today.  That place is so fun.  P had a little fender bender with her friend LC.

I'd brave the cold water (and stingray/shark risk) and surf more often if I had a wetsuit like this...brilliant...

Worm Hunters

Please note, I realize the button on her vest is fighting for its life...it is probably time for me to admit its too small.  But if you follow this blog, you probably realize, she wears it EVERY DAY!  MLN -that was the best hand me down.  Ever.

$3 Makeover and Funny Confession #93

A fresh coat of matte black paint has really done wonders for these frames...

To see the before, look here.

Funny Confession #93: I sorta count this as getting back into painting...I'll take what I can get...

Funny Confession #92

I really hate a messy weedy overgrown yard / property.  The only thing I hate more is yard work.  My poor yard.

Despite this post, the cute gloves didn't help much. I wonder if cute tools would help?

Funny Confession #91

I wish my feet could run as fast as they look like they should run in this badass looking shoe / sock combo.

Catamount Pride, NHL Style

Fellow Cats, I hope you all watched this moment live last night. Weren't you so proud to be a Catamount?  I loved all the UVM shoutouts from the commentators.  Go Bruins, I hope Timmy wins it all...Go Cats Go!

Doesn't this beautiful video make you want to drive ride a fixie to the grocery store local farm stand for some beets???  Gorgeous video.. plus,I like beets and I like cake. Has anyone ever had beet cake?  How hip does this video make beet cake seem??  I'm inspired...

Trompe L'Oeil Love

I love a whimsical trompe l'oeil in the home or on a dress...

This tapestry from UO is so fun on a wall...
 Or on a bed...

Of course I love P's sweet dress...
And I am debating getting myself one so I can match my minime

Yarn Bomb Spotted

One of my favorite peeps spotted and shared this yarnbombed bikerack. I love it. If you spot one, or do one, share!

Nursery Inspiration

Do I have to have a third baby to decorate a third nursery?  I am not sure I am ready to go for 3...but I sure am inspired by this nursery concept.  I am a sucker for stripes.  You already know J.A.J.A.  And most of all, I love the asian inspired changing table situation...if anything could make poopy diapers exciting, it would be a piece of furniture like that...don't you think?

Funny Confessions #89 and #90

Funny Confession #89: I love the DIY movement.  I love the look, feel and specialness (is that a word?) of DIY projects.  The only piece I don't love is the "Y" part.  I see DIY and immediately jump to CYDIFM (Can You Do It For Me).  For every DIY I post on the blog, I email another 10 to someone crafty (99% of the time my parents).

Funny Confession #90: This one is so little it didn't warrant its own post.  But, I have to get it off my chest.  I only have 10 more confessions to go until I am at 100 confessions.

I feel pressure to make #100 a good one.  That is my confession.

DIY Awning

I think this little bistro awning would look so super cute above the interior window of our playroom.  There is a DIY awning tutorial here, check it out and then let me know if you need exact measurements so you can get started...merci.

Movies...I got to get to the movies...

Funny Confession #88

On my days at home, this has been my lunch lately.  Somehow, when it is open-faced, made with fresh fruit instead of jelly, and photographed with a fancy iPhone lens, a PB&J seems awfully fancy...am I right?  I am so freakin fancy.

Bombs Away

Finally, I spotted a yarn bomb.  I've always wanted to stumble upon one...this lovely was in Sellwood.
The bike rack was cool and all....but I'm hoping to wander upon a bus like this one...and then I would hop on...
...and drive past this tree...
..and then ask the yarn bus to stop so I could ring a mate

PS - June 11 is International Yarn Bombing Day...get your knit on yo...who ya gonna bomb?

Planter Love

Loving all these creative planter situations.  Spotted them here, here and here.

Spring Hiking

Its that time of month year...when O breaks out his crampons.  This past weekend was a warmup hike on Hoodie, next weekend to the summit of Mt. Shasta.

How cool is the modern world? Papa can record and send a video for his babes from high atop a mountain...

Just Add Sun...

We took in our first MLS game this weekend.  I really wish there was more scoring in soccer...but wow, there sure is energy in the gorgeous Portland Stadium.  The Timbers Army is no joke.  Perhaps you can tell from the video...I was torn between where to focus...the game or the Army...

The Timbers won, extending their unbeaten at home streak.  I believe they are the only team in the MLS that remains undefeated at home this year.

Wow Portraits

If you loved this house...perhaps you wanted to learn more about the woman in it?  She's an artist - clearly, since her home is art - and she does amazing portraits.  Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamazing!  I love her style.  Her name is Elizabeth Chapin, and girlfriend is good.  I love the flooring texture in each of these...I love everything else too...perfection.  Love!

Go Cats Go!

Fellow Catamounts...I trust you are all following the NHL playoffs this year.  Specifically the Bruins vs. Lightning series.  Takes me back to 1996 to see Martin St. Louis and Timmy Thomas dominate...except this time they are not on the same team.  These guys are stars...so cool.  Go Cats Go!!!!

Lulu is One!

Sweet sweet LuluG is ONE today!  We are celebrating with Nashville all the way in Portland!  One is fun!  I love you babygirl!
