O and I have started calling the PFM "church". I mentioned to O that it is kind of like church for us, and it has just stuck. Some of our friends have adopted the term too.
We go each week, it is very rare for us to miss a Saturday morning at the PFM. The PFM represents so much that we believe in and are passionate about (family, healthy living, being outside, great food, community). There is always great live music, which W really loves - we do too. We always run into friends, old and new. We always make a friend.
When friends come to town, hitting the market is a "must do". We love to show them off at the market and show the market off to them. Being there makes you feel good. Being there makes you feel connected to Portland, to your friends and to your family.
There is such a big "congregation" at this "church" of ours, that they had to double the footprint of it for the 2010 season. I guess this is a popular religion here in PDX.
We hope to see all of you at church soon. Amen.

Love it. A perfect way to celebrate and give thanks! I wish our Farmer's Market was as long (and as big!) as yours, but I'll take what we can get. We'll be there most Saturdays as well when it's around.
god bless us every one.
perfect sentiment. one that i wholeheartedly share! love you guys. rg
Um, been to visit and never been to your church! Ahhh, being a mother of 2 makes it hard to see such sights.
I heard the best sermon on blueberries last week. And broke bread with an apricot scone.
Hope to run into you at Church sometime soon!
"Church"- love that!! I'm going to steal that one, I think. :)
Love, love, love the PFM - I like the term church too! Just found your blog and I love it...I'm from Oregon but living in Munich now! Stop by if you have a minute!
