Eight is Great
Today we celebrate 8 years of marriage! Last night (thanks to the best babysitters/grandparents) we celebrated with night skiing, a ridiculously good dinner in the Cascade Room at Timberline Lodge and some over the top cocoa from the bar in the Lodge.

Nice Lips
The new year is coming fast. This means one thing. The blogosphere will be exploding with resolution lists. Most are as annoying and impossible as mine was years ago (I still regret ever posting one, rookie blogger mistake!). A refreshing twist on that trend was created with this recent post by a sweet blog friend of mine. How smart and fabulous. I imagine Ms. Mayhem is smart and fabulous in real life too.
Go on over and leave her a comment.

Inspiring Mama!
This video is so awesome. What a rad way to retire from the world cup circuit! Go Sarah!
Followup. Love.
Winter Waterfalls
If it ever actually gets cold, I really want to go check out some winter waterfalls! After reading this, I have added "winter waterfalls" to my exploregon todo list (which only exists in my head, maybe I should document it).
Anyone up for a winter hike?

Walmart, PDX style
This news is so Portland. The newest Walmart will have a 40,600 square foot eco-roof. Of course it will.

Photos du jour
We had intended to maximize our time at the mountain this holiday season. However, the weather is SO BAD right now (rain rain rain) we just had to come back down to the city. Being home is pretty great too especially when Birdie and Bry are with us! Rainy days are great for puppet shows, books, and trips to the grilled cheese grill.

News!
My parents watch a ton of TV news. We sense they are really missing it while they are up in the mountains with us. To scratch their itch for TV news, O shared this video with them. We thought it was hilarious. Not sure they did...
Not your average brownie...
This uber gourmet chocolate orange torte arrived at our chalet, along with other fancy and fabulous homemade goodies. Auntie Shell must love us as much as we love her. Merci!!!
Cabins in the woods
Both of these beauties are on our road up here at the mountain. Love. As you know, I love the homes up here.
We are here all week, in our own petit chalet. Please forgive any spotty unformatted posting from my iPhone which is bound to occur.
