We love to be on the go, and sometimes it feels like we are always on the go. But we also love love love to be home.
O did a project this year that helped to make our home sweet home a little sweeter. He made us a new play yard!
I wish I had some good "before" pictures...but I don't. Let me tell you about the "before"...the yard was a dry, rocky, sloped, weedy mess which led into a decrepit, rickety, rotted fence. Between the yard and fence was a huge gap that a small child (or adult) could easily fall through...and it dropped off several feet into a gnarly slope.
O saw the potential to make it great...and after hours and hours of hard work, and some great help from these two frenchies (his father and god father), he made it happen.
First he took down the yucky fence and built a sweet new one.
First he rented a sodcutter, which he used to remove the old grass (weeds). This was a tip from Martha Stewart...and it was a good one, saved a bunch of time.
Then he brought in lots and lots of dirt, which he spread to flatten/even things out and then he rototilled....
Then he got one of those roller things, and made it really flat...
Sod was delivered...and he had to haul it all up LOTS of stairs, this was hard work...it was wet and heavy.
And here is the view from the yard, not too shabby...
Grab a lawn chair and a book, come on up!

Love it! Maybe the NW VKing Championships should be played there. Are you still coming East? Hope so.
