Friday Night Rally

The season is finally upon us. From now until April we'll be trekking up to the mountain each weekend. After full days at work and school, friday night rallies take some effort, but its always worth it when we wake up on the hill!

Ultimate H.N.O.

Now that Salt & Straw and Bamboo Sushi are neighbors on always hip NW 23rd, the ultimate HNO (huppie night out, duh) exists and is effortless.  Its almost too easy.  Maybe its so easy I did it twice this week.  That is a whole lotta sustainable, organic, local, premium, hipster, and keeping portland weird for one week, (not to mention expense - but that is no fun to talk about.  It isn't cheap to roll huppie style, but damn its delicious).  If I were you, or you, or you, you, you - I'd plan a trip to PDX stat just to get in on the seasonal flavors at S&S.

Today is a big day for college football.  It is fun to watch, but in between games we are also making time to follow ski racing.  In case you missed it, Tahoe's own Marco Sullivan had a huge day.  This recap will make you smile, even if you don't know him.  If you do know him, perhaps you popped on your Marco Rocks hat (from Whistler 2010).

It's set in immediately. It was a little bit emotional at the finish. Just to have that happen after a few down years and to start out the year like this, is beyond my expectations.

I wouldn't still be racing if I didn't think I could still compete. This year, my place on the team was a little bit in jeopardy. I lost a lot of sponsors. I worked really hard this summer and for it to show on the first race of the year was special.

My goal was top 10 and to exceed that was awesome.

This has been a very interesting year.  First, JoePa screwed up and so the kids school needed a name change.  Then, more recently, Lance disappoints the world and our fitness center / swimming pool was un-named.  We rolled with both of those changes pretty well.  But ELMO?!?!  Really?  Such a bummer.  We loved this documentary, and hate this news!
