I did a double take the other night while cruising along SE 11th. I noticed an empty urban lot had been fenced in and filled with some goats. Signage alerted me that goats from Sauvie Island Goat Rental were there, helping to clear out the lot. Does this happen in the middle of other metropolitan cities or is this just a Portland thing?? How does a land owner decide to rent goats vs. a lawn mower?

We have this in San Francisco too. It always cracks me up. It's hard to imagine that it's worth the hassle of raising and transporting the goats, but I love the idea of employing goats to do what they do best.
This is there 3rd year in that lot! We love stopping and saying hi!
