Fox & Friends

My new friend Deb is so great - check her out on Fox News....

Ms. Silk...you drive me crazy. I applaud Deb for not laughing at you, you sound so silly you litter bug you. This effort is not anti smoking, it is anti litter. Perhaps all the chemicals in those ciggy's have impacted your ability to get it? Keep on smoking....just toss your butts into the garbage.

I Heart Sammy's

WKF and I just had a LOVELY walk in the sunshine around NW23 and NW21. Will we ever stop falling in love with PDX?

We noticed for the jillion-th time that Sammy's is the most gorgeous flower shop inside and out. Just walking by puts a spring in ones step.

Funny Confession XXXVIII

My son is literally outgrowing his jammies. Look at his big toe...poking through.

A close up:

I just ordered him 3 new pairs of jammies.

Pix from Salem

Here are some photos from my day in Salem.

Here is Deb, the star of the show, the author of the bill. Go girl.

This is Representative Tomei, she is championing the Bill through the process. Yeah!

Below is Rep. Matthews. He gave excellent testimony from a firefighter's perspective about the fire danger associated with butts that are improperly discarded.

And here is a serious looking activista (aka Portland Sunshine) who yapped about the hunt and the "gross-ness" of the butts.

Isn't America cool? What a great day!

Great Wedding Photos

Um, are these photos amazing or what??

And could her shoes be any cuter?!?!?

To The Statehouse!

After reading this article and posting this post, I was really feeling motivated to re-engage in my crusade to eliminate the butts! So I contacted Deb (the woman in the article) and offered to help her with her efforts to pass the bill.

She invited me to join her in Salem yesterday. She and I both testified before the House Committee of Environment and Water in the House of Representatives wing of the statehouse. I told them all about the hunt and educated them about the gross and icky-ness of the butts.

There are a few (ok, a lot of) other steps before the bill becomes a law, but yesterday was a promising first step. Our testimony was very well received and it was a thrill to be a part of it. Stay tuned...

Remember The Hunt?

My friend KE reminded me that nearly a year has passed since the hunt! My passion for this issue is as strong as ever...and I was thrilled to read this article this morning.

Deb Schallert, I would love to shake your hand (I'd probably go in for a hug). You are my hero!!!
