Babymoon!

We are (I am) planning our babymoon details! Grand Canyon here we come! Thank you to whomever popularized this babymoon concept...I am loving it.

Per wikipedia - A babymoon is a vacation taken by a couple that is expecting a baby in order to allow the couple to enjoy a final trip together before the many sleepless nights that usually accompany a newborn baby. Babymoons are usually take place at a resort that offers appropriate services like prenatal massage. The term babymoon comes from the more traditional term honeymoon, which is a vacation taken by a newlywed couple after their wedding ceremony.

Per moi - bring it on!

Funny Confession II

These pix were taken on the babymoon.

They were taken poolside at the resort.

What is funny about that confession?

Well, it was not the resort where we were staying our nights. We realized early that this resort had a better pool...and so we spent our days there.

Concerned grandparents and other do-gooder friends please note: We do not intend to continue this "resort crashing" behaviour after baby arrives, clearly that would not be setting a good example for the Jicama, we get it. But you must admit, that is quite a pool...

Weanniemoon

I just love to moon. What is not to love?

When you get married, you take a honeymoon. Ours was tops...a ski house in Squaw Valley. Ahhh.....

Before you have a babe, bien sur you indulge in a babymoon. Again, ours was pretty all time, the Grand Canyon and Sedona.

Why should the mooning stop there? I am inventing another type of moon...the "weanniemoon". This is a mama vacation to be taken once the babe is fully weaned. I think that the papa stays behind with the babe, and the mama does something fun just for her (visit with girlfriends, perhaps a spa weekend, a yoga retreat, weekend a Paris....).

I am starting to daydream about my weanniemoon possibilities. I will keep you posted as I make the plans. I assure you it will be something fabulous and it will not involve camping.

Good idea, right? Spread the word, I want this to catch on. Weanniemoon!

Bananas

Per my previous banana post, this shot (from our babymoon) shows that it is no wonder why we are having a garcon.
