Uncle Sylly

We had a blast with Uncle Sylly (and his parents) last week.  Our kids think that having an uncle who is just a few years older than they are is pretty special, they are right.

Lovely Press For A Lovely Garden

Travel the entire world and you won't find a garden as lovely as this one.  Dude, it is in the Smithsonian.  Seeing these pix and reading the accompanying article made me feel so happy.  I have been to this property many many times, but the annual easter egg hunts of my childhood are the memories that always rise to the top of mind when I think about this lovely garden.  My favorite part of the lovely article is this sentence: "She provides the design sense, while he supplies the muscle."  So cute and so true!

 I love this photo of Bonnie, but of course this "house arrest" one is still a favorite too...

Funny Confession #210

I don't do camping, fancy wine, or horses...and yet I am dying to round up some girlfriends and do this trip when I return to the Pacific Northwest in a few years.  Maybe its those outdoor tubs that got me, or maybe I miss my girls?  Whatever it is, PNW girls, you all love to camp, drink and at least LC likes horses...lets do it.  Wait for me...

Playroom/Guestroom

It is such a treat for the kids to have a big playroom!  The space doubles as guest quarters as the couch converts to a queen bed.  It feels so good to finally be settling in here!!

Chez Gilles et Giselle

I have mentioned this before, but O's uncle and aunt (TonTon Gilles et Giselle) spend the warm months down in southern France (you may recall that the winter months are spent slopeside, in the Alpes).  It was such a treat to see their (other) gorgeous home.  Je l'adore!!!  This is where Amelie grew up (at least during the warm months).  They are such an inspiration to us.  They bust their tails, but they are living the beautiful life they want to live.  Amelie, who is now 20 (crazy) is happily following in her parents footsteps - a ski instructor all winter (just like her papa) and helping to run the family parasail business all summer.   More pix of the gorgeous town of Sanary will be posted soon.  Prepare yourself, it is unreal.  But for now...please admire this amazing little home.

We returned on Saturday from 5 days in the south of France.  I have so many pictures to share.  I'll start with this ice cream series.  Sweet little P is her mama's daughter.  Vacation is delicious.
