Pow Turns
Saturday was pretty blizzardy, P and I didn't even ski. But Sunday was a powder day. It was our first family powder day and the kids did really well.
W held onto this little icicle for 3 straight runs.
W and I rode the chair together all morning, P and O were never far behind.
Fresh tracks all day, just to P's right you can see WKF's sweet turns. He loved looking back to see his trail.
That tiny spec at the end of the fresh tracks is WKF

I promise no more ski/snow/mountain posts this week. Well, at least until the weekend.

Eat by Color
I'm pretty sure we'd all be healthier if we ate so colorfully every day. The kids dig it. Me too. Fiestaware helps.
Visitors
Our cousin G came to visit last week. So much fun. He is getting so big.
We took him swimming for the first time, he was so natural and comfortable in the water.

Snow Days
We had so much fun this weekend, we decided (on sunday night) to take monday off and stay up in the snow an extra day. There is so much snow up there, it is pretty amazing.
We rented a sled that harnesses to your hips, and went for some awesome treks in the snow. I took W with me on a snowy trail run, now that is a how to train for Boston!
I wasn't going to do all the work, we switched roles near the end of the run. Mush!
Monday was a bluebird sunny day and so we went for a long xcountry ski. We brought the sled, but also let the kids do some nordic skiing. They were pretty good. This was the only pic I took that day...O with the kids in the sled.
And finally - here is a shot of our mountain house. We rent the front part (above the garage) of this sweet house. It has worked out so great, we are loving it. Look at all the SNOW!

PDXcellent
Two awesome pdxisms spotted today. A yarn bomb on Hawthorne, and an urban chicken on NW 26 in my rear view mirror as I parallel parked.
Parenting
This is a good parenting read. Let's all slow down, shall we?
Everyone is talking about Bringing up Bebe. I haven't read it yet, but from what I am hearing I think O's dad should have written it and I am thankful that O has inherited his Papa's good frenchie instincts and parenting values.

Portland Pudding
Ever since this delicious NYC discovery, I have a special place in my heart for rice pudding. Lucky for PDX, we have a pretty awesome pudding place here too. On several occasions in the last year, including tonight, I feel a strong need for a fix. Pudding on the Rice never disappoints. If you haven't yet, try it.
