Processing

It will take time to grasp what happened in Boston yesterday.  I know too well what Boston is supposed to feel like.  I know too well what Boston is all about.  My mind swims in thoughts of last year, when everyone I loved was at the exact same spot at the exact same time.  My heart hurts for those that earned and deserved an experience like mine.  Terror has no business at the Boston finish line.  I'm processing.

Thanks to all that I have connected with the last few days - the same people here in these pix, and so many more that aren't pictured but were with me that day and today and everyday.  I love you all forever.

My big day

I remember everything about this day and that sweet little garage sale bike!! If you look closely you will notice tulips on my shirt. Maybe the universe knew bike riding and tulips were in my future?!

Thanks for sending Birdie!

Bigger Day

Funny we thought yesterday was such a big day.  O did end up seeing the Queen, which was cool and all...but Her Majesty has nothing on this bike riding princess.  P decided today was the day, and just like that...she was off!  Go P go!!!

BOSTON!

I can't believe that a year ago today I was laying out my outfit for the marathon.  A year later, I am still on a high from that day, and so grateful for all the family and friends that helped make it happen and make it special.

I didn't run a fast race that day, but man did it feel good to cross that puppy off of my to do list.  Good luck to everyone running tomorrow!  I'll be cheering from my couch and couldn't be happier about that!

Butt Update

My PDX hunt was nearly 5 years ago.  Crazy how time flies.  The old butt hunt team is still connected, and every now and again we'll swap an email/link on the subject.  This was recently passed around...and it made my heart skip a beat.   Lets hope this Legacy effort gets global traction...butts are just as common here in Amsterdam as they are back home.  We need to change people's ways...raising awareness is the right approach - bravo Legacy and Leave No Trace.

If you are interested, here are a bunch more of my posts on this topic...

Smile

I spotted these all around Vondelpark today, and smiled at each.

Big Day

The Queen herself will open the door in one hour. Crowds are gathered, bands are playing, tulips are blooming...excitement (and rain) is in the (chilly) Amsterdam air!

Beat Up

Sometimes I feel a litte beat up after a long day. Yesterday I looked it. SweetP got me really good. A complete accident, she bonked my eye with her head. I have quite a shiner.

Happy News

We are celebrating big news! O's lil bro is getting hitched!!! Today we are sending love to Auntie Kate (we like the sound of that!) and Uncle Ry! Yippee!!
