B&B

We were sad to see them go, but we sure had a great time while they were here.

WKF started to think Birdie was his Mama.

He also had some good "guy time" with Bry.

We barely even left the house, but we did make time for a trip to the VQ.

While they were here, B&B checked in on their horse project. They were happy to see the little guy is doing well. We have been taking good care of him.

A Few More Pix From the Boy's Trip

Is it too much if I post more pix from O's vacation? Probably, considering I wasn't even there so it's not my trip to blog about....

But these pix were too fun not to share. Enjoy.
This is where they slept:

This was their rental car:

The next 2 are MC getting some fresh tracks:

Here is a team picture: O and MC, in (their version of) heaven

Papa's Home!

I don't think there is anyone on earth that loves winter (the season and the boy) more than my hubby. He just returned from a trip up to the mountains of British Columbia and he is glowing.

It is unlikely that his group will be featured in a magazine randomly like they were last time, so I'm posting the pix right here on my blog. Thank you to MC for taking so many pix and sharing them with me.

It was good to see he had his gloves (instead of hats on his hands)...I wish he'd put them on!

There is so much powder, it is hard to find him in this picture!

That is a happy O!

So happy!

Check out the snow on the roof of the Chalet. Wow.

Daddy-O, we are so glad you are home safely. We missed you.

Weanniemoon

I just love to moon. What is not to love?

When you get married, you take a honeymoon. Ours was tops...a ski house in Squaw Valley. Ahhh.....

Before you have a babe, bien sur you indulge in a babymoon. Again, ours was pretty all time, the Grand Canyon and Sedona.

Why should the mooning stop there? I am inventing another type of moon...the "weanniemoon". This is a mama vacation to be taken once the babe is fully weaned. I think that the papa stays behind with the babe, and the mama does something fun just for her (visit with girlfriends, perhaps a spa weekend, a yoga retreat, weekend a Paris....).

I am starting to daydream about my weanniemoon possibilities. I will keep you posted as I make the plans. I assure you it will be something fabulous and it will not involve camping.

Good idea, right? Spread the word, I want this to catch on. Weanniemoon!

Who's Your Paddy?

This is a holiday that should cause us all to stop and reflect about the Paddys in our lives. Who is your Paddy? This hunky red head is no saint, but he is the Paddy in our life. Hugs to Uncle PattyG on "his day".

xoxo

PS - I could write an entire post about how much I love their wedding cake...adorable, right?

Columbus Design Guide

I have been to Columbus, OH many times, but this guide makes me want to go back. Fellow Buckeyes...enjoy!

Happy St. Paddy's Day

If WKF could talk, today he'd probably say..."Mama, why does my cousin Z$ get to get all dressed up for St. Paddy's Day...."

...and why does my girlfriend Rosebud get a special Irish-inspired hair bow....

...and little me, I just get green spinach on my face...why Mama?"

Happy St. P Day!

Sad Day

It's a sad day in Portland. B&B have left. Boo. WKF and I dropped them off at the airport this morning. We tried to convince them to stay and watch the zips...but they needed to get back home.

This was our best and our worst visit ever.

Why was it the worst? Well, I was so sick for 4 full days. In bed, no food, chills....sick. Yuck. I feel like I missed out on QT with 2 of my most favorite people. I am feeling all better today, but I am still so bummed about it. I feel robbed!

Why was it the best? Well, WKF sure bonded with his grandparents on this visit. While I was sick in bed, they were on mama duty. They fed him, changed him, napped him, bathed him, walked him, played with him, read to him, cooked for him....it was great. Thank goodness they were here, I don't know how we would have gotten through the week without them!

Poor WKF is looking very confused this morning. Those big eyes are screaming..."Where are they? Where are they?". He keeps looking around corners....hoping they'll pop out, peek-a-boo style. It is so sad. I tried to explain it, but it is not clicking.
To help it all sink in, I took WKF over to the guest house with me to put clean sheets on the bed. He was clinging on to the guest book...where Birdie had left him a note.

He helped me to make the bed. We are all ready for them to come back. Soon we hope!

If It's Good Enough for Paris...

The bike share concept has been a hit in Paris, I'd love to see it come to Portland. It looks like this company is getting it all figured out for the US...

Missing O

Daddy-O,

If you are checking the blog from the lodge, please know that we miss you LOTS! We are thinking about you and I hope that there is a whole bunch of fresh powder when you wake up in the morning.
