Selfie Love

I adore Honestly WTF, esp when they have content as great as this. I only wish I'd seen I'd thought of it myself while I was living in the shadows of the Rijksmuseum.

Carpe Diem! Big Picture Calendar

If you know me at all, you know I adore planning my entire year on one page. I have made my own such planner for years...I even remember doing it in high school...

It brings me so much joy to share that I will no longer be making my own.

Schoolhouse has partnered with Egg Press (who is awesome and conveniently located one floor below my office in the Schoolhouse HQ) to introduce - The Big Picture Calendar.

Go buy one.

Carpe diem sweet friends, carpe diem!

PS - they come in this great tube packaging and make a fab gift...

Lucky Me

Remember this darling home tour? Yeah, me too - I dream of striped walls!

Well, I have another mad-talented coworker with a hip sense of style, so natch the blogosphere was eager to give her some house tour love...

Lucky me, I get to work with the cool kids, every single day.

Remember KK? Yeah, me too - like every day.

Well she's not the only stud in her family. Check out her baby bro, featured on the Today Show, nbd.

Brainiac

You know that feeling when you turn on Bloomberg news and see one of your Amsterdam besties being all expert wizard and hair blowout? I didn't either, until I did. CP, you are a boss.

Beycation

I'd use any excuse for a train ride to Seattle and some time with great girlfriends. Beyonce is a very solid one. As expected, Bey rocked our world. This sweet getaway was time and money well spent.

Summer Time

My darling coworker Summer had her home featured on DS yesterday. It nearly blew up the internet, because it is just that sweet. What an honor to work with such stylish, smart, fun people. Ahhhh....

Comment dit t-on "baller" en français?

You know you are a baller when the international press follows your career...
Dougie Fresh continuing to make the papers...love it.

End of an Era

Marco has retired, after competing in 4 olympics and more downhill races than any US man in history. Love his quotes, especially this "fulfillment of my childhood dream to be one of the fastest ski racers in the world." It should be noted that he fulfilled every Squaw kid's childhood dream, not just his own. And all of his Squaw mighty mite buddies have been cheering for him all 15 years of his epic career. Too cool. Total stud.

Eddie

I read a review here that stated: " Picture the protagonist of Napoleon Dynamite starring in Cool Runnings, opposed by the preppy villains of Hot Dog... The Movie—the TV edit, of course, this is a family film—and you’ll start to get the idea."

And after reading that, I just knew I had to see this movie ASAP. So I grabbed my kids who are 6 and 7 (logically figuring that since 6+7=13 the PG13 rating was fine), and we hit the theatre.

We LOOOOOOOOVED it.

I don't love how this story ends in real life...so I like to believe it is not over. Surely sweet Eddie deserves a cut of this film's revenue!

LPQ News

LPQ has a special place in all of our hearts after our time in Amsterdam. To think it just got even better...Big news, big job, go DS.

I just love the feeling you get when your friends are doing cool and inspiring things. Moving and shaking.

I also love knowing that I have a running buddy and a croissant hookup in the big apple.

The Time Is Now

Over the holidays, we always take time to think about the past year and plan the new year - like most people.

This year, this graph is motivating us.

It is motivating us to keep in shape, to spend time with the kids, and to optimize the "sweet spot", indicated by the circle - which we optimistically estimate to be another decade or so...

My own mom defies the graph, because she is off the charts.

Confession #362

As a girl, I was never a barbie girl, even if I have several old barbie posts. Try to watch this new ad and not be converted. Suddenly I want to buy P some barbies. Or maybe just buy stock in mattel. Either way, well done team barbie, well done.

Run With Me - San Francisco!!!

The Nike Women's Half Marathon has long been on my to do list. I was thrilled to secure a coveted spot this year. All the hype is justified. The race was dope. Every detail. Including the weather this year - which is never a sure thing for a 6:30 am start time in late October in San Francisco.

This is me, hoping my best hope that my race strategy works out...
We had breakfast and laughs with these two, pre race...then we all cruised into the VIP corral together...so fun.
Obviously a selfie was needed, mid race, when the view is that good...
The best sign of the day. I had to snap a photo.
I ran into DJ at the finish, a favorite running buddy of my favorite running buddy (SN)...
I had front row seats at the awards ceremony...where Joan Benoit Samuelson (more on her later!)  joined the top 3 for a photo.
Speaking of top 3...the top 2, who are good friends, tied for first...how adorable, strong, cute, YOUNG do they look?!

The famous blue box, made only more famous by this race...handed to each finisher...because: so much better than a medal.
The window display at the Nike store sure knows how to make a girl feel special. The SF was for me, right?
et voila, there I am...

In the end my time was more than 10 minutes off from a "good day"...which only proves there are lots of different ways to measure a good day, because yesterday was a very good day!

You know how this is a women's race? Well...

So fun to run with my man! O was 100% unprepared, untrained, and came to SF with no intention to run....but nobody says no to a bib for this race...and so when SL hooked him up (the day of the race), "YES!" was the only acceptable answer! You gotta say yes to this course on this day...and so he did...in his board shorts and terrible socks. He had never run that far before, but made it look like NBD. Does this make me love him more or hate him?!

How amazing is this picture? Hey #763...RESPECT. You are making it look really easy...while I am fighting for each step...

A few more pro shots...

Elbows out...that's how I do it. I have tried to correct this...but now I just embrace it.

Saving the best for last...lets talk more about Joanie!

I met her and it was the coolest. I have always wanted to meet her...and so I did. Amazing. Hello gold medal legend..how are you this morning??
