Confession #375

Remember when I used to shop local for the finest euro sweet treats? Yea, me too. Oh well. Now I get them at Trader Joes...luckily they taste *almost* as good....and they are cheaper than a plane ticket.

Carpe Diem! Big Picture Calendar

If you know me at all, you know I adore planning my entire year on one page. I have made my own such planner for years...I even remember doing it in high school...

It brings me so much joy to share that I will no longer be making my own.

Schoolhouse has partnered with Egg Press (who is awesome and conveniently located one floor below my office in the Schoolhouse HQ) to introduce - The Big Picture Calendar.

Go buy one.

Carpe diem sweet friends, carpe diem!

PS - they come in this great tube packaging and make a fab gift...

Sayulita Smiles

We've been back in the USA for 2 weeks now, but I still have so many Mexico pictures to share! A day spent in Sayulita is a day well spent. This surf town made my heart sing!

Amsterdam Map

I am so proud of my friend JM, who is so talented and hard working (as I have mentioned)...I knew this map would be worth waiting for! I'm in love with it, cannot wait for mine to arrive so that I can frame and hang it!

Tentation

Every now and again I am tempted to reconsider my feelings about camping. For example, learning about these beautiful tents gets me curious...

Seek your chaos, find your calm

Welcome to Spring at Schoolhouse Electric. If you want to see what I have been up to at work for the past many months...check out our new Spring line.
If you don't already get our catalog, you probably should...sign up here.

Confession #368

I had no intention of hitting up target today for the Marimekko collab. It was barely on my radar, certainly not a priority. However, when 3 different VIPs from different phases of my life all texted me reminders...I felt maybe they know me better than I know me? And I made some time to get to the bullseye. I scooped up a few sweet finds, including this mom and me bathing suit situation...which will serve us well the next 2 days...because I am taking the kids here. Am I amazing or crazy?

We'll Leave the Light On For You

First day of Spring called for some house projects. We are finally getting around to installing some decent lighting. Loving this sweet little door moment, made possible by a new light and some Chez Frisch signage. Home is where the heart is...it feels good to give ours a little love. Our home has definitely been feeling (and looking) neglected after months of us zipping away to the mountain every weekend. Honey, we are home.

Nike at PFW

This photo is worth a repost. I love when favorite things come together. Like Nike a Paris. And gym socks with heals.

Good find SN.

Confession #364

I bought this. Because: duh.
If I could go back in time I would wear it for this and this. Onward.

Not Boring

The past few weeks have been super busy. But how boring is it when people tell you they are busy? Let's not talk about that.

Yesterday, our shipment cleared customs and arrived on our doorstep. Major. We are splitting time between the house full of boxes and our temp housing downtown. Grateful to get to do it this way, but eager to settle in. My mantra has been 'move in to move on'...because this transition phase is going on and on and on. I'm eager to just be. How boring is it when people tell you about their move details? Let's not talk (any more) about that.
Well, lets talk a tiny bit more about that. I will feel exponentially more settled once my closet is put together. Call me shallow, or call me a girl who knows WTF she needs to feel settled. Ok, stop calling me things.

Here is something that is not boring. This headline cracked me up. It is so good to be back in Portland, where stuff like this happens.  Have you seen the missing tofu? If so, call police!

This business idea is not boring. Ding dong, I sorta want to try it. I actually love shopping myself...but I also love creative business ideas and admire those with the courage to pursue them

Aziz Ansari's new series, Master of None, should be not-boring. I'm excited to check it out next month. Funny about his parents...

My sister alerted me of this not-boring trend. Ummmm...Can.you.even.deal?

I found this impressive nugget in my kids backpack. I'm oddly proud of his honestly. For the record, he can read...he just doesn't make a habit of it.

I was just starting to wrap my head around little big burger, and now Stumptown?! Exciting for these small local brands, and I am optimistic both will scale with soul and make PDX proud.

And finally, ever since learning this trend had a title (the title is normcore), I am so fascinated that something could be so boring that it is not boring. If you are having trouble falling asleep, just use google images to search "normcore".
Thankfully, I recently learned that #normcore is over (amen). Chaos magic is the new jam. And what a perfect way to end a post titled "Not Boring" (amen, again). Go mix your own kool-aid.

Guide Book

A few weeks ago I picked up a copy of this brilliant book. She's proving to be a handy guide to help me rediscover my own city.

Nice Melons

"Nice melons SKF", said nobody. Ever.
Spotted these crates at my neighborhood Marqt. Now I need to sweet talk a clerk into selling me one...
