Windmills

Birdie sent us this book, and we read it every.single.night.  Partly because we like it, and partly because our stuff (including kids books) has still not arrived and cleared customs so our book selection is tired minimal.

Well, on the last page the book claims that the story is based on truth (or at least legend), and occured in a town called Kinderdijk (named as a result of this story - where a kitty saves a baby in a flood).

Today we daytripped over to Kinderdijk to see it for ourselves.  The kids were on the lookout for Katje the Windmill Cat.  We didn't see Katje, but we did see (and tour) some amazing windmills.  It.was.not.warm.
