BINGO!

I'm pretty excited about my recent art purchase. I will find a good place to hang this beauty once I get her framed. The artwork is a collaboration between local artists Bishop Lennon and Amy Ruppel.
It would be most appropriate to hang it in the guest house for visitors. But I want to see it everyday. Perhaps I need two?

Volcano Proposal

My friend just climbed Mount St. Helens. She's nuts, its an active volcano. It was worth her effort, because her man proposed at the top.
So sweet,right? Congrats LH.

Photos were taken by some random person. They asked him to snap a photo, but LH's man had prepped the guy for what was about to happen. I love it!

PS - She said yes.

True Prep

There are very few "preps" here in Portland. There were lots when we lived in Boston. I don't think I miss that scene...

I got a great laugh out this VF article - which is excerpted from True Prep, by Lisa Birnbach with Chip Kidd, to be published this month by Knopf. You will too. Read it.

Happy Due Date To YOU!!!!

Hey little man, I assume you check my blog in there? So here is a little reminder that today is your due date. Go easy on your mama. There are about a jillion people on the outside that already love you. I'm pretty high up on that list. Can't wait for our first snuggle.

SweetP = Lathyrus Odoratus

Our front slope is covered in these wild flowers. I was thrilled to discover they are called SweetPs (ok, sweet peas).

Lathyrus odoratus, commonly known as ‘sweet pea’, stands for «delicate pleasures’. The name comes from the Greek word, ‘lathyros’, meaning "pea" or "pulse," and the Latin word ‘odoratus’, meaning "fragrant" . Sweet pea belongs to the Fabaceae family being of great interest both for florists and gardeners.

My source.

My todo list now includes picking a bouquet of SweetPs.

Funny Confession LX

Ummm...I am a tad bit envious that my hubby is in NYC at Radio City Music Hall for a private JayZ show right now...

The Small Viking

Question: What do my new banner, rad nike sneakers, the coolest wedding invites ever, and pine state biscuits all have in common?

Answer: The small viking. Go to her site, browse her portfolio section and be wow-ed. The gal is good. Only the best for Portland Sunshine, obviously.

PS - for more examples of her wedding work, check out this blog too.

Breaking Ground!!!

At the exact moment that this post hits the blogosphere (10am PST on August 12), they are breaking ground on a MUCH NEEDED new track at UVM. This brings a tear to my eye. I wish I could be there for the ceremony today.
I did so many awesome things during my five (what, some people are slow) years at UVM, but I really think being a member of the T&F team was the best thing I did (aside meeting O, obviously).
