How am I doing on my New Years Resolutions?

Warning - this is such a boring post...skip it. It's for my records...

**************************************
Are we really (almost) half way through the year? I have looked back over my resolutions for 2009....

Here is how I am doing.....
  • judge slower - I am conscience of this now, and getting better I think
  • relax faster - getting really good at this
  • knit something - not so much, not yet at least...
  • exploregon (plan mini vacations all around this great state...) - doing pretty well on this one, but there is so much more to see and do!
  • get with it, get a Mac, learn how to use it, use it - Nope. Still want to. Anyone want to buy me a Mac?
  • develop and implement an effective mail management system in the home (so that i stop hiding paperwork on the pushed-in dining room chairs in random piles) - YES!
  • stretch - No, not my thing...still.
  • start (and complete) the process to acquire french (dual) citizenship. bonjour! - Started. Staring is so much easier than finishing, isn't it?
  • find a way to make running part of my everyday life again - I am doing well enough on this one. I feel good about it. Ran a few good races too.
  • create a scrapbook/album from our wedding (FIVE YEARS AGO) - YES!
  • make WKF a babybook - sorta...a work in progress...
  • simplify/declutter my closet and the rest of the house - less stuff, less stuff, less stuff - always working on this one
  • read - yes, doing great with this one and loving it
  • get dressed each day (not sweats...really get dressed in cute outfits...look good, feel good) - I have good days and bad days with this one
  • stand/sit tall and upright, no slouching - room for more improvement here
  • ride a bike more often - YES!
  • don't use the sponge in the sink to wash out cheese from pots (O, this one is for you, I know that I drive you crazy with this bad habit of mine...) - YES!
  • only eat high quality ice cream, don't waste calories on the crappy stuff - only premium baby....(as I type this I have a pint of haagen dazs on my lap) - YES! This one has been laughed at by many...but its working for me
  • see above and then do the same with chocolate...only the good stuff - I have slipped a few times with this one...but doing ok
  • wear matching bra and undies - room for improvement here, anyone want to buy me some sets?
  • wear my hair down from time to time - I must say I am doing really well with this one
  • be the best godmother that this sweet bud could ever dream of having - could I ever be good enough for her, she is the BEST and i adore her!

How are you doing on yours?

It's a BOY!

9lbs, 12oz., 22in. Perfect. LL claims he can already hold his own head up. We love you babyL. Call us if you want some name suggestions....we are full of them....

Simple Solution

Here is a simple solution to an annoying problem. This butt bucket was spotted in Medina, Ohio by a butt hunt supporter...thanks for sending it my way.

Any Minute Now...

Any minute now, my big sis is going to deliver #2!

We are all dying to know....will #2 be as big as sweet Z$ was when she was born?!? (10lbs, 9oz of PERFECT - see below!). And will #2 be a boy or a girl?!?!?!?

Stay tuned. The next 24 hours are exciting ones for our family!!!

Funny Confession XL

On Friday O and I played hooky from real life and we went snowboarding...while WKF was at daycare. It was awesome.

I have some great pix, but we are experiencing technical difficulties with our computer/camera situation...so you'll have to wait.

You gotta love Portland where it is sunny and 85 in town and yet you can still have a snowboarding date with your honey. Amazing!

Brew Buds

Something tells me these two will be studs at their upcoming UVM 10 year reunion. Step aside frat boys, these guys are gonna be the big men on campus.

Way to go dudes. I'm inspired by your story! I love it. Go Cats Go!
I have no idea if these two are single, but if they are I want my single girlfriends to track them down next weekend in Burlington... seriously.

Nice Stache

O has been working really hard all month...to grow a mustache. He entered a mustache-growing contest at work (for charity), and today is the big competition day. He is in the "dirt lip" category.

I think he is looking hot hot hot....how could he not win?

Un-Nike Town

I pass this shop every day. It is a crummy, dirty, outdated-looking, running store that has this sign on the door.

It annoys me. This is Portland, the city where Nike's World Headquarters are located. Nike is a great company that does wonders to sustain our local economy. Nike also does a ton for the community. In fact, Nike built the track that is about 100 steps away from this dinky shop. Oh, and by the way, Nike makes great products.

I'm all for competition. I'm all for small, niche, local running stores being successful. There are more than enough runners in this town to support Nike as well as small shops.

I just wish this guy would be pro something instead of anti something, you know?

Photo du Jour

I can't believe he can already drive. They really do grow up so fast.

Sisters on the Fly

Not my thing...but how adorable are the Sisters on the Fly? I spotted a blurb about them in Sunset (my fav mag), and I had to go online to learn more.

Their mission: "Offering empowerment and sisterhood through exceptional outdoor adventures"

This group of gals travels the country with adorable vintage trailers. They are a group of women who challenge themselves in all that they set their minds to do. They have no age or color. They represent no religion or political group. They welcome all women who want to share the adventures of "sisterhood".

I love it! And I LOVE their trailers. Here is a link to a bunch more trailer photos.

Portland gals...doesn't this inspire you a little...should we all chip in and buy an old trailer and start making some s'mores and having some adventures?! Let's start with the s'mores...
