Well, there is more big news (for people like me who think retail store openings are big news).  Tory Burch is opening a retail store in PDX in October.  I hope that my home our store looks something like this one (pix from here).

Tory Burch is a "luxury lifestyle brand".  I can't wait to pop in and buy buy buy experience / observe some luxury lifestyle.

What is not to love about Jonathan Adler?!  Even if you are boring color and pattern are not your thing, you still gotta love JA.  He is here in PDX.  I walked by (after hours) Thursday night and did a triple take.  So excited to go back when he is open. Remember, J.A.J.A!

And PS - while you are bopping around that area, you may also notice a new jack spade store.  

No more JV squad, shopping in PDX just went varsity.  I'm sure there are plenty of haters on this topic, but I think its great.  You can still support the local shops, but it sure will be fun to have these guys in town too.

Step Up

I went to college with JP.  She is a great gal.  After college she went on to be a 2 time national champion, and recently married a famous bike star (who crushed it in the Tour de France and the Olympics - so cool).   Read this and be inspired.  If you don't make time to read the whole article, just read this quote "I don’t like when people complain about something but don’t step up to take care of it.”  I could not agree more.  I am proud to know her.  I wish we were all a little more like JP, huh?  I borrowed this photo from here, another good interview with JP.

It was so fun to be there with him! I even wakeboarded for the first time since P was born! This was our first full family boat ride, and we all had a blast. How rad is Portland...all of this right out our door (and down a little hill)!
