A Weekend In the Green Mountain State

Our time in VT was too short...I could have spent another week there easily. So much to see and do, so many people to hang with. We barely took any pictures. The few shots below are all that I had on my camera.

This is the view from our friends' backyard. The view was so great, and the friends were so gracious...we ate there 2 nights in a row.
Now here are three handsome boys....you may recognize the guy on the left and the guy on the right from previous posts.

Yours truly was honored to accept the 2010 Young Alumni award...I heart UVM!
I was thrilled to see my old house looking so great, loving the fresh coat of paint. Isn't she a beautiful house? I have such great memories in that house!

Ahhhh VT, we'll be back!

Ohdeedoh Ohio

Ohdeedoh just featured Parker's sweet nursery...and it makes you want to meet Parker and her mama. Next time I'm home, we'll have to invite Parker to the playdates at Birdie's!
Isn't that room great? I'm loving the striped walls.

WesOne

I was so busy with our recent trip...I neglected to give a shout out to my favorite godson. The other W in my life, is ONE! Look at those big blue eyes...what a love. Happy belated bday BigW.

Vintage Toys

When you play with Birdie in her Nest...its the late '70's / early '80's all day long. Check out this collection of (my old) saved toys...

Martha Martha Martha

While we were in Akron, we visited with a good friend of ours - Bonnie. O took a picture of this picture that Bonnie had tacked to a wall...Bonnie on the right, Martha (yes, that Martha) on the left. Bonnie was at Martha's for a garden tour of some sort. Pretty cool, huh?If you are wondering when this photo was taken, look closely. The ankle "jewelery" on Martha's leg tells me it was taken during her house arrest period. Kind of funny, huh?

Birdie and BryGuy's

Akron was great
We swam every day

And played outside
And got held a lot

And enjoyed time with beautiful GG, who flew in to be with us...

And we built some cool forts
And we did some horseback riding

And some offroading...

We had lots of fun playdates with all of our fun akron friends.

The only thing we didn't do? Take photos with BryGuy. Darn it.

Fork Town

The Portland food scene is so so good...it can probably be a bit confusing or overwhelming for visitors and locals alike. Enter: forktown food tours. Sign up and take a tour! Currently, tours are available every Thursday from 2 to 5. This biz was started by a friend of UncleRy's. Any friend of his is probably pretty cool.
If you aren't sure about this concept...keep reading (and look at these gorgeous pictures)....
Beer-butt smoked chicken with rhubarb/rye/basil coolers at the legendary Wildwood Restaurant.

Fine italian sausages and some chorizo and two kinds of sopressata. Everything is made in house - Chop Butchery and Charcuterie.

Coconut and saffron macarons from Two Tarts.
Homemade peanut butter, Hood River cherry preserves, applewood smoked bacon, jalapenos, grilled on thick slices of challah from PB&J's foodcart.

BBQ oxtail sliders on house made focaccia from Besaws.

Now imagine getting all of this and more in one yummy tour. Now, go sign up. Yum. Looks fun, right?

all these gorgeous photos are from here.

More to Love!

Just back from the East Coast tour...but no time for chillin' or unpackin' we have a shower to host! So excited for Saturday night's Cupcakes and Cocktails party. Its gonna be fab, because this baby deserves the very best. Lucky for me, the co-hostess is a creative genious...we are having fun making things come together! Here is the baby boy...at 30 weeks. Sidenote: Nobody could look this good in tighties even with a flat belly. How adorable is that bump?

Memorial Day

Birdie and Bry had their flag flying high on the big day. The Captain sent them this special and official flag, it was flown on a base in Afghanistan.
Isn't their back patio lovely? We spent lots of time there.

Wild Dogs

We are home!

Did anyone else hear about these doggie hair dye jobs (trendy in China) on the Today Show this morning? Bizarre and maybe wrong...but kinda cute.
